Galiana project is a community project dedicated to all kindered spirits in the name of light. Galiana is a sanctuary, which is located on the border of Upstate New York and Berkshire Mountains. The land which is shaped like a womb is surrounded by a mountain stream and conservation land.
Creation of this sanctuary has been in our dreams since our childhood, when we read a book about spanish king Alfonso 8 who fell in love with a jewish woman Rahel. He built an estate for her, which had streams, fountains and gardens. She was a highly educated and spiritual woman, who had a vision of an interfaith sanctuary as early as in the Medieval Times. She spoke many ancient languages, and in every language she wrote inscription of ancient wisdom on the walls and doorsteps of the palace. The inscription that we adopted and swear by is “Alafia, peace to the one who enters”.
Rahel has created such a magical place where the trees were whispering of tenderness, and the waters were singing of love, that the king did not want to go to war any more. The only thing he wanted was to stay with his beloved in this place of love, healing and rest.
We feel that in the days when sacred feminine is making itself heard, it is not necessary to be the lover of the king to have a place like that. It is a place which in spirit is passed to us from our grandmothers, and will be passed by us to our daughters. We build it ourselves, with the help of our luminous community.
We also feel that the role of the feminine in the world right now is to create healing places inside the man’s heart, so that he did not want to go to war any more, whether it is with himself of with others.
We are planning to build a goddess temple, a pool, a sauna and ayurvedic treatment facility and ayurvedic garden along with the sacred circle space and studio spaces for workshops and dancing. We are opening the retreat for the workshops and events which serve the evolution of consciousness.
The style of the place combines indian, buddhist and south american motifs. Everything is carefully chosen and prepared with a lot of wisdom and love. There is a place for everybody here who would like to be of service to humanity. We welcome you, the one who enters.
